Cleveland Magazine, a publication of Great Lakes Publishing Co., currently has an opening for an Art Director. We are looking for an extremely creative, energetic, organized individual to design and layout printed and digital materials. A superior understanding of design concepts, typography, photography and software is key; Web design and photo skills are major pluses. Candidates should have at least mid-level magazine experience, a flair for cover and feature design, and strong management skills. The position requires resilience and flexibility. The Art Director will work closely with the editor(s) on the overall vision, content and execution of the magazine.

The ideal candidate will work well under deadline pressure to perform routine and complex duties in the preparation of Cleveland Magazine and related products.


  • Oversees all editorial design for Cleveland Magazine (12 issues) and all other ancillary products
  • Manages and directs freelance photographers, illustrators and designers on a monthly basis.  Handles all freelance billing 
  • Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Associate Art Director and Assistant Art Director
  • Assures that effective training and development is given to each employee in their department
  • Creates annual budget recommendations

Great Lakes Publishing Co., publishers of Cleveland, Ohio, Lake Erie Living and Inside Business magazines currently has an opening for a part-time customer service/data entry representative in their Circulation Department in our downtown Cleveland office. Position is about 20 hours per week, $10/hour.  We prefer someone who can work on Mondays and Fridays and one to two other days per week. Schedule is flexible within our regular office hours: Mon-Thu 8:30-5:30 and Fri 8:30-5:00.  Occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed to work shows and events.
