We are looking for a marketing savvy account executive who can develop strong business partnerships with current clients and someone who is motivated to develop new business for Inside Business, as well as, PlayhouseSquare Playbills, custom publishing projects, events and digital services.

Inside Business Magazine is part of Great Lakes Publishing Company headquartered in Cleveland. Great Lakes Publishing currently produces four subscription titles (including Cleveland Magazine and Ohio Magazine), over 100 client custom publications, websites and email newsletters each year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospect for advertising and contract communication services for custom publishing and related Internet products.
  • Attend community events and network.
  • Coordinate advertisers' needs with Great Lakes Publishing policies, procedures and special programs and issues, to explain rates, contractual and business requirements, technical capabilities, and to encourage prompt payment of open accounts.
  • Write proposals and negotiate contracts.
  • Initiate customer contact by use of phone, email and in person meetings.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; (Degree preference in Business, Communication, Advertising, Marketing or related field).
  • 3 to 5 years of Media (print, radio, digital or TV) sales or similar sales field experience preferred.

Great Lakes Publishing seeks an Associate Editor, Custom Media in our Dublin, Ohio office. We’re looking for a savvy editor with experience in reporting, writing and editing various forms of prose for our client publications in travel, business and specialty fields. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have superior copyediting and proofreading skills, familiarity with AP style and inherent skill with editing and rewriting. As an editor in our Custom Media department, this person should work well in a client-driven environment in which creativity and organization are critical. This position reports to the managing editor in Columbus.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assigns and edit stories for various client-driven products
  • Writes copy for client-driven products
  • Fact checks or assigns fact checking on all edit and audits facts when required by a project
  • Works directly with client and is responsible for proof deadlines
  • Collaborates with art directors, account executives and clients
  • Proofs and corrects pages in InCopy/InDesign
  • Manages internal databases, familiarity with Excel preferred
  • Prioritizes multiple assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree in communications, journalism, English or a related field
