Great Lakes Publishing Company, The publishers of Cleveland Magazine, Inside Business Magazine, Lake Erie Living Magazine and Ohio Magazine and other client and custom media publications is seeking an Advertising and Custom Media Project Coordinator.

The successful candidate will provide a point of contact for advertising information with clients, advertisers, the magazine and the custom publications media group. This candidate will also help manage workflow by coordinating deadlines for the custom media team. This candidate should be very organized.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter advertising contracts into the central sales management system
  • Contact clients for artwork via email and phone
  • Prepare sales solicitation mailings and emails
  • Manage the custom media deadline calendar
  • Provide administrative support for the Advertising Sales and Custom Media group
  • Coordinate advertising billing with the Accounting Department
  • Quality control of various publications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; (Degree preference in Business, Communication, Advertising, Marketing or related field).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign
  • Must be able to handle a number of projects simultaneously and have attention to minor details
  • Must work well in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a Customer Service disposition and “can do” problem-solver attitude

We are looking for someone who is very organized and creative. They must be able to handle big picture planning and work hands on executing a wide range of event details. They should have a sound track record of managing people and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage event budgets
  • Work with caterer to plan menu
  • Work with AV vendor to prepare audio visual
  • Plan and execute event attendee marketing plans
  • Work with Publisher to create sponsorship opportunities
  • Coordinate event RSVP’s and registration
  • Develop and adhere to event plans, actions and milestones
  • Work with designers to create event marketing materials
  • Work with event facility to coordinate floor design and booth set-up
  • Coordinate sponsor booths and signage

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; (Degree preference in Business, Communication, Advertising, Marketing or related field).
  • At least 3 years of event planning experience.
  • event management experience preferred
  • Flexibility to attend evening or weekend events
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to handle a number of projects simultaneously

Circulation and Distribution Manager

Desert Publications, Inc., publisher of Palm Springs Life (PSL) and based in the beautiful Coachella Valley of Southern California, has an opening for a person to run our Circulation and Distribution department. Candidates must have prior magazine circulation and distribution management experience, preferably with a city and regional lifestyle publication.

Responsibilities emphasize the growth of our paid print and digital subscription base and the development and implementation of marketing plans and promotions to make it happen. Candidate is also responsible for USPS relations, reports and permits, overseeing our publication audits, managing the budgets in these areas, print orders, inventory and storage oversight, relations with our fulfillment house and newsstand distributors. Supervisory experience required.

Besides PSL, we also publish 20-25 other publications on a less frequent, but no less important, free circulation model that require input and oversight from this management position.
