People on the Move

  • To accommodate recent growth, 417 magazine, Springfield, MO, added two new positions and filled two vacancies: Kelly Dorrance joined the company as marketing director and Erin Willis as special sections coordinator. Jamie Elson joined the company as editorial graphic designer, having recently graduated from Washington University in St. Louis. Scott Shellhorn joined the company as advertising graphic designer, hailing from the local daily newspaper.
  • Julie Orr left Palm Springs Life and moved back to the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California, where she has joined the sales staff of Big Bear magazine. Nina Truex has moved into an advertising coordinator position at Big Bear magazine.
  • Boston has hired Sascha de Gersdorff as associate editor for lifestyle.
  • Central PA welcomes Production Manager Rebecca Weaver and account executive Tim Cable.
  • Beth Robertson and Lisa Bledsoe have joined the D magazine sales team as account executives. Jen Erwin has been promoted to advertising director for D and Chris Kent to associate publisher, D Home and Garden. Justin Johnson is the new business development director of the Custom Publishing Department.
  • Emmis announces the promotion of Susie Love to executive vice president/sales & marketing, a position formerly held by Jack Marsella. She has been with Emmis Publishing since 1988 and has been associate publisher of Indianapolis Monthly, publisher of Atlanta magazine, publisher of Cincinnati magazine and most recently, vice president/sales development. Before assuming his current responsibilities, Marsella served as publisher of Indianapolis Monthly for 13 years. He will now train and develop Emmis sales teams.
  • Elaine Head has joined Evansville Living/Tucker Publishing Group as advertising production artist.
  • Jocelyn Fuller is the new managing editor at Fresno magazine, having worked as an editor at The Business Journal in Fresno, CA and most recently as director of corporate communications at the Economic Development Corp. serving Fresno County.
  • Kentucky Monthly welcomes account executive Kimberly Holland.
  • Kent Palmer has replaced Matt Rogge as circulation director of Madison.
  • At Moffly Publications, founder Jack Moffly has moved to chairman, and Jonathan Moffly has assumed his father's title of president. Jack remains publisher of Greenwich, while Jonathan remains publisher of New Canaan-Darien. Gabriella Mays has been promoted from associate publisher to publisher of Westport. Lisa Diggins has been promoted to ad director of all three titles. Lori Martello is now corporate comptroller, and Rob Smith is now corporate design director.
  • Okanagan Life welcomes executive assistant Carola Holdsworth and account executive Bruce Peirce.
  • Michael Evans is the new associate publisher/ad director of Palm Springs Life.
  • At Philadelphia, account executive Ryan Adams has replaced Morgen Carroll.
  • At Rhode Island Monthly, Paula Bodah has resigned as editor to pursue freelance work, golf and travel. Copy Editor Lisa Harrison was promoted to articles editor.
  • Andrea Todd joins the editorial staff of Sacramento as staff writer. She comes to the magazine after stints with McClatchy's Modesto Bee and previous employment in New York as a writer for other publications.
  • Kevin Leap has been promoted to publisher of San Diego. He previously served as associate publisher and advertising director. During his brief tenure, Leap oversaw a redesign and branding effort that produced big results. The 55-year-old city magazine saw its overall revenue growth increase by 24%. Ad pages increased by 13% and newsstand sales have grown by 7%. Under Leap's leadership, the Custom Publishing division is gaining as much as 23% over last year. In addition, Web site visits soared nearly 250% since the redesign/re-branding campaign. Founded in 1948, San Diego magazine was purchased in 1994 by James L. Fitzpatrick, who served as publisher until Leap's recent promotion. He remains president and CEO.
  • St. Louis has moved to 1600 S. Brentwood, Ste. 550, St. Louis, MO 63144. The magazine welcomes Art Director Angela Pierchorowicz.
  • Lana Champion is the new publishing director of Water's Edge magazine in Jacksonville, FL.
